occupation retired teacher
I have been a resident of MIddletown for more than 25 years. I attend Middletown Council meetings on a regular basis going back to 2012 or so and often speak to various issues. Working on my HOA board and on community projects such as revising our rules and regulations and organizing garage sales are some of my contributions to our community. I am a retired teacher. Any teacher worth his/her salt is great listener and communicator. During my years as an educator, I was a building representative for my union, served on the executive board as well as the negotiating team.
Transparency is very important to me. As a candidate, a few people in my district have reached out to me with concerns about the location of the new early learning center. I have been very transparent as a retired teacher, I support full day kindergarten and smaller classes that a new leanrnig center will provide. I also state that I agree that we need to address possible traffic issues. Another group of retirees asked me about getting a left turn arrow to exit their development. I explained the road where they egress is a state road not a local one. However, I was able to connect them with someone who manages PennDot projects and might be able to help them. I also told them that I would follow up in our next conversation.
1. Being transparent and communicating with residents. 2. Preserving the good quality of living in MIddletown with reflective planning for future development. 3. Making decisions that help to alleviate the tremendous traffic in Middletown.
