Chief Financial Officer
In addition to being a long time resident and mother of two special needs children educated in the Rose Tree Media School district, I am a seasoned entrepreneur, community activist, and youth advocate with decades of experience.
As a longtime community organizer and public servant I have learned the importance of listening and giving voice to every one in the community, to reach the best resolution for all. I believe it is our duty as public servants to be transparent and accountable to the residents and learners in the district.
Listen and learn from the community and Incumbents, be a voice for the parents and their neurodivergent learners and fiscal responsibility.

In my four years on school board I helped choose our current, excellent, superintendent, participated in labor negotiations resulting in agreements that reward our hard working, dedicated employees and maintain fiscal responsibility, worked to increase communications with all district residents, and helped ensure that our policy process addresses the fast-changing educational environment. My nonprofit background gives me experience with large budgets and balancing competing demands on limited resources. My career in education, public broadcasting, and the public humanities helps me recognize how vital clear communication and the free exchange of ideas are in the success of any complex project affecting people with differing perspectives.
I will build on our accomplishments over the last four years – livestreaming all public board and committee meetings and archiving the streams on our website, approving the hiring of a communications director for the district for the first time in more than a decade, regular updates of our website on our most important activities, such as major construction projects and the budget, in layman’s terms. We need to expand these efforts. Effective communication cannot depend on audiences seeking out the latest developments on our website. If we really are committed to transparency, we must find ways to get information to people where our residents will come across it in the course of their daily lives.
Completing the project to renovate playing fields and a new K-1 center while increasing parking and accessibility of our facilities, reducing traffic accidents, and limiting congestion issues on district-owned property next to Penncrest. The K-1 center will solve the present and future overcrowding issues and provide full-day kindergarten for the first time.
Provide special education to the growing percentage of students who need it without sacrificing the experiences of others.
Integrating technology that will be key to our students’ success in the workplace, such as AI, into our educational practices.
Limiting the impact on local property taxes, including advocating for increased support for K-12 public education at the state level.

History Professor
I am the current president of the Rose Tree Media School Board. I received my Ph.D. in American History from Rutgers University in New Brunswick. I have taught on the college level for the past 25 years.
During my tenure, as a school board member, I worked to ensure that we are transparent and accountable to the community. As a school board director, I strongly advocated for fiscal responsibility and budget discipline. I sought to ensure that all our children receive an education that meets their needs.
We live in an award-winning school district; our community is highly sought after and a strong school district that is forward thinking, ensures that this will continue.
It is critical to be transparent and accountable to the public. I intend to continue these efforts. Under my tenure on the school board, all meetings are recorded and posted for community access. I welcome community input at meetings and through email.

My career has been driven by a commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement. This has equipped me with the skills to drive initiatives within the school district, enhancing education and support for students.
As a Polymer Chemist, I prioritize investing in STEM programs and supporting students who choose not to pursue college.
Fiscal responsibility and transparency are crucial. My experience in financial reporting, analytics, and governance ensures every dollar is spent wisely.
I believe all stakeholders need a voice throughout any process. Leading large-scale projects has taught me the importance of engaging with the community and involving stakeholders in decision-making.
Fiscal responsibility and full transparency of the school budget are crucial for building trust and ensuring the efficient use of resources. I am proposing the launch of a comprehensive newsletter aimed at keeping all residents informed about significant developments within our community. No resident should find out about an $80 MM project months after the school district has made the decision. All stakeholders need a voice in the process - from beginning to end. They need to be heard - and when they ask questions - they deserve answers.
Effective Communication: Establish real communication channels with parents and taxpayers to keep everyone informed and engaged.
Educational Investment: Focus on investing in STEM programs and enhancing support for students who choose not to pursue college.
Fiscal Responsibility: Ensure full transparency of the school budget and maintain fiscal responsibility.
