New Jersey residents face economic and social crises that have been made worse by Trumpism. We still need Medicare for All, expanded and improved social services, housing as a human right, and measures to offset the growing problems posed by climate change and environmental pollution. We need to protect First Amendment rights of free speech and the right to assemble in protest. We need to protect law-abiding immigrants living and working here, to live and pursue good lives.
We need ranked-choice voting, to eliminate the potential for spoilers in elections, and to ensure that the will of voters prevails over machine politics. We need to stop the creation of laws that define people protesting genocide as terrorists and antisemites, and ensure that the right to protest government policies is protected.
Enacting Medicare for All New Jersey residents would (1) eliminate people going into debt and losing their homes, because they have become sick or injured. Replacing the predatory health insurance system with a guarantee of healthcare free at the site of service would also cost the the State and employers far less money as they will no longer be faced with paying high premiums to cover employees' health care. People with incomes over $250K per year would be taxed at a higher rate than people making less. We must eliminate allowing billionaires to be exempt from paying taxes. Most can pay at a rate of 50% of their income and wealth, and still be the wealthiest people in the world. We need paid parental leave, paid sick time, and paid vacations for all workers. We need to eliminate the state funding of Israel, while using that money to help fund and improve public education. We also need to stop the State from raiding State workers' pension funds, and bring back the COLA for pensioners.
Higher tax rates for wealthier residents and businesses in New Jersey could provide funding for schools in New Jersey. School lunches must be free for all students, regardless of income. We need to have funding to hire more teachers, improve and repair school buildings and grounds, and provide more support staff to meet students' needs. While I fully support public education, I also believe that families must have the choice about how their children will be educated. Many families home school for various reasons, including working with children with learning differences who might not be served properly in school, or to design their own curricula tailored to their children's needs, without interference from the State.
NO ICE! Bands of masked men kidnapping random people off the street, from their homes and businesses, are nothing more than new versions of the KKK. The kidnappings and lynchings of people because of the color of their skin or their national origin HAS TO STOP. This is one of the worst episodes in US history, and the US has had a deplorable history of racist policies since before its inception. Instead of locking people up in strange lands without and legal recourse, we need to provide a clear path to legal residency and citizenship.

Affordability — The cost of living in NJ. We have the greatest tax burden among the 50 states in the top tax categories: Yet our expenses are outpacing revenue. We need to consider tax-free incentives. Jack Ciattarelli proposes the first 100,000 tax-free for new businesses — 11.5% corporate tax is the highest in the country. Our property taxes rank 2nd highest. Gradually reduce property taxes by some percentage annually. For Seniors, cap property taxes without rebates and tedious bureaucracy.

Education - Revamp the curriculum to be more inclusive and balanced. Concentrate on basic skills. Less than 30% pass the NJ math assessments. Adopt school choice. Cater-to and promote trade schools with pride in them.
Repeal the governor’s unilateral decisions that have heavily burdened taxpayers both in cost and public safety. Legislators had no vote, and taxpayers had no say:

The 2018 Immigrant Trust Directive forbid cooperation with federal border officials, and created a sanctuary state. It has cost billions in taxpayer dollars and It has cost us in public safety / drug distribution. (See below on Immigration). Gov Murphy deactivated nuclear and natural gas before any wind farm (to-date) has operated. He invested and gambled billions on questionable or incomplete science. I don't believeAffordability — The cost of living in New Jerseyans on board with these decisions?

Empower parents. Parents do not want to turn the health and welfare of their children over to the state. Repeal secrecy policies like 5756.. Halt or repeal the bills to reduce age of a Minor to 14 yrs to consent to mental health care, or that allow suicide hot lines to bypass parents knowledge. STOP legislating parents.
Cut the budget — It has grown 45% in 5 yrs. Review and trim top budget lines — just like you do (or should do) with your household budget. Assess all programs for sunset terms. Halt proposed policies that will burden the middle-class —like the proposed utilities bill requiring the middle class to pay for the debacle in energy policies, or to offset school budgets in other school districts.

Reactive natural gas and nuclear energy plants immediately. Currently New Jersey pays high prices to import our energy needs. We cannot “freeze” that cost; the market controls it. Solar and wind are not up to readiness, and efficiency is tenuous at best. A proposed bill by the current administration will offset the debacle with the middle class picking up the tab. NO!

1) School budget should be controlled by the city or town, or an independent board, not the school board. School boards are comprised of educators, counsellors, parents or (more recently) elected because of their race or gender. They are ill-equipped to direct such a massive budget. It’s not fair to them nor he community. Budgets for successful businesses are set by accountants and finance experts. 2) The state formula should provide equal treatment across school districts. Taxpayers should not have to take on the state’s overall burden. They are already burdened with high taxes to support their own local schools. NOTE Important to a League of Women’s voters: Women should support women and implore our state representatives to vote for Fairness in Women’s Sports.
Repeal Sanctuary State status. Gov Murphy’s 2018 Immigrant Trust Directive has restricted cooperation with government border officials, making New Jersey a sanctuary state. This has invited an influx, an estimated 1 million, which is a tenth of our population. Consequences have been massive in public safety, unmeasurable drug distribution and cost to New Jerseyans — an estimated 7.3 billion annually. Also, I support our police and firefighters; we need to restore COLA for them.

Sanctuary state status must be repealed. We welcome entry of all races and cultures to legally cross our borders. We will focus on the needs of our own citizens
