Emmett Charter Township Public Safety Millage
Note: if approved, the following proposal will replace a previously approved millage of 1 mill for public safety vehicles, apparatus, equipment and maintenance that expired in 2024.Shall the Charter Township of Emmett impose an increase of up to 1 mill ($1.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) in the charter township tax levy limitation imposed under MCL42.27 and levy it for 10 years, 2025 through 2034 inclusive, for the purchase of public safety (police cars and fire trucks), apparatus, equipment, and housing (stations) as well as for the maintenance thereof, raaising an estimated $462,297.00 in the first year the millage is levied?
