Running and maintaining a household, homeschooling my boys, and before that, several years in finance. I am also a lifelong learner and have always been interested in American history and politics. Though politics is an ugly business it can also be worthwhile when the right people are elected. As a Constitutional Republican I believe in a smaller government and that is what the Founding Fathers believed in, as well. Local politics are especially important since it impacts people where they live. If I am elected I hope to be worthy of the position for the people of Monroe.
Economic responsibility including lowering the tax burden of Monroe taxpayers.
Slowing the overgrowth, Monrovians do not want more high density housing.
Addressing the quality of life for Monroe residents which includes supporting our emergency services especially those who protect law abiding citizens and addressing the infrastructure issues we have, especially our crumbling roads. This requires the first issue I raised.
We must budget well, cut needless expenditures, and spend taxpayer money responsibly. If I am required to live on a budget to maintain my household well then my city should do the same! I am prepared to dig into this after my years in the financial sector before becoming a mom.
Monroe is growing, and with that growth come important decisions about our roads, infrastructure, local businesses, and the cost of living for families. Our roads need attention, and I believe we can make needed improvements without placing an unfair tax burden on residents.
This will take thoughtful planning and responsible leadership. By encouraging businesses that provide good jobs and contribute to our local economy, we can create more opportunity while strengthening the services and infrastructure our community depends on.
I want to help make sure Monroe remains a place where families can afford to live, businesses can succeed, and our community can continue to grow in the right direction.
