Race Description White
If I’m elected Richmond Township Chairperson, my priorities will be to: 1. Be a responsible steward of our money. 2. Work to make the Town Board a cohesive, productive working team. 3. Provide transparency and good communication with the residents.
To promote civility and cooperative problem-solving, I will first listen. Our residents need to be heard. I also plan to make it much easier for residents to access information about our township. From township board meeting agendas and minutes to information about our revenues, contracts and expenses, there is really very little that should not be readily accessible by all our residents. When people are informed and heard, it becomes more natural to work together. With over 30 years of Project Management experience, I can lead people in finding and agreeing on solutions to problems we’ll face. But I won’t be working alone. I look forward to leveraging the vast experience of our residents in solving problems together.
I believe that the most pressing social service issue facing our community is that people are reluctant to get involved. Sometimes they may not know how to get involved or think that being a part of their government is too big of a time commitment. Other times they may not realize that getting involved can mean many different roles: attending township meetings, participating in committees and commissions, volunteering, etc. Our younger residents are often under-represented, and we need to work to encourage involvement from more residents in our community.
