Lake Mills Town residents deserve a Chair who clearly outlines critical services; maintains collaborative relationships with the City and County; prioritizes courteous interactions and timely responses to resident inquiries; imagines new ways to access existing services and resources without additional expense; and has a well-rounded understanding of Rock Lake’s importance as both the Town’s economic backbone and impact on residents’ well-being.
One critical step in promoting civility is for the Board to demonstrate that attribute towards its residents, its municipal partners, its contractors, and with each other in all its communications. As Chair, I would set the example and encourage others to follow my lead.
For the Town of Lake Mills, the most pressing social service issue is EMS and Fire Protection. The first step would be to clearly outline those services to our community: Who is providing the service? Where? What is the performance measurement? What is the expense? How is it determined? The next step is to publicly monitor that service contract.

Many towns are facing this same problem and there is some discussion for action at the county level. Consequently, the third step in this problem is to network with other municipalities to determine other possibilities.
