Why did you choose to run for this office?
What qualifications and experience do you bring to this office?
What are the major goals you hope to achieve during the next term?
I've been a member of the Normal Township Board as a Trustee and as the current Clerk. I enjoy that township is a smaller, yet highly impactful form of local government. I care deeply for the community I live in and want to continue to promote the ARC senior activity center, assist those who need it through general and emergency assistance programs, and maintain a focus on providing fiscally responsible grant funding to local youth and senior programs.
As mentioned, I've served on Township Board twice now. Beyond that, and more importantly, my professional life has been a balance of retail management and human resources management, allowing me to help customers and help coworkers. I view Township very much the same. All levels of governance should make efforts to serve constituents through fairness and equity, treating everyone as the reason they are in the elected position they are in.
I will ensure the continued award- winning programming offered at the ARC.
I will work to ensure transparency within Township government, by continuing to add additional Township resources to the Township website.
I will clearly delineate the difference between Township governance and other forms of local governing, making it clear to constituents why Township is such an effective, frugal, and necessary government entity.
