Education and Experience 17 years working for Pepsico in several different areas, including General Manager of the Beaufort facility from 2013-2018. Currently I own my own business which is Papay Insurance & Associates. I have a team of 6 employees that service the states of SC and GA. We are ranked in the top 3% nationally and have won numerous awards for sales and service. My office is located off of 170 in the Riverwalk Commons Shopping complex.
As a candidate for the Hardeeville City Council, my qualifications include a deep commitment to our community and a fresh perspective that emphasizes the importance of youth representation. I bring a forward-thinking approach, which is essential for addressing the evolving needs of our growing city. I’m eager to ensure that our community remains vibrant and welcoming for everyone. My background includes managing and running different businesses where I had to focus on customer service while balancing a team of diverse personalities. This has equipped me with the skills necessary to listen, advocate, and enact policies that will benefit all residents. I understand the unique challenges our city faces.
Infrastructure: As we continue to grow, it is essential that the city invest in our utilities and roadways and collaborate with our neighboring municipalities and utility providers. Development: We must prioritize and complete essential projects, including walking trails, green spaces, and ensuring attainable housing. Transparency: I will ensure that I am well-informed on all matters that I am voting on, prioritizing financial responsibility and actively seeking feedback from our community and businesses to promote sustainable growth. Future: As a small business owner, I will bring a fresh perspective that balances progress with respect for our past.
Increasing Public Participation Opportunities: I will push for more public forums, town halls, and workshops on important topics, allowing residents to provide input before key decisions are made. This includes having open Q&A sessions during Council meetings and scheduling events at accessible times for all residents and making communication available on social media outlets.
The City Council meetings are live-streamed and available to be viewed online via the Hardeeville City Facebook page. I can advocate that the agendas be published online via the Facebook website and my official City Council Facebook page. That way, a resident is able to view the agenda easier and if there is something that they are passionate about, they are able to make plans to attend the upcoming meeting.
