ISSUE 07: WHITEHOUSE VILLAGE CHARTER AMENDMENT - VACANCY AND RESIGNATION
PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENT - ARTICLE IV, SECTION 4.05 To change Article IV, Section 4.05 Mayor Vacancy and ResignationA majority affirmative vote is necessary for passage. Shall the proposed amendment of Article IV, Mayor, Section 4.05, Vacancy and Resignation, of the Charter of the Village of Whitehouse be adopted? Section 4.05 VACANCY AND RESIGNATION - In the event the office of Mayor shall become vacant for any reason, the President of Council shall thereupon become the Mayor and serve for the unexpired term or until the beginning of the term of the successor duly elected as hereinafter provided. Such person shall not continue as a member of Council. In such a situation, there shall be a Council vacancy to be filled pursuant to the procedure set forth in Section 3.07 of this Charter. Council shall have the power to declare a vacancy of the Mayor s position. Any resignation shall be effective when tendered.
