I wanted to become involved in my community in a positive way. I feel I have a lot of qualities that would make me a good local political leader. I want to represent our residents in a fair and equitable manner. Port Jervis is a unique area. There is a strong sense of community and pride. I want to work hard to maximize our potential and seek opportunities for businesses and taxpayers.
In the last year I have become a member of the Industrial Development Agency (IDA) and the Tourism Board. I am practical and pride myself on being a problem solver. I have a good mind for numbers, which is important with spending and budgeting. I am always willing to learn and appreciate alternate points of view.
On the local level, I feel it is most important to maintain a feeling of community. No matter what is going on in the rest of the country, Port Jervis residents always rally together, especially in times of crisis. As long as we join forces locally, we can persevere and create an ideal society for us to thrive in.
