Clear Creek County Ballot Issue 1A - Retain Lodging Tax Revenue
WITHOUT RAISING TAXES, SHALL CLEAR CREEK COUNTY BE AUTHORIZED TO USE A MINIMUM SIXTY PERCENT (60%) OF THE REVENUE FROM THE EXISTING LODGING TAX TO SUPPORT HOUSING AND CHILDCARE FOR THE TOURISM-RELATED WORKFORCE, INCLUDING SEASONAL WORKERS, AND OTHER WORKERS IN THE COMMUNITY, AND FOR ALL OTHER PURPOSES PERMITTED BY LAW, WITH UP TO A MAXIMUM FORTY PERCENT (40%) OF LODGING TAX REVENUE CONTINUING TO BE USED FOR ADVERTISING AND MARKETING LOCAL TOURISM?The fiscal impact information may be found in the TABOR Notice published by Clear Creek County HERE.

A vote "YES" on Ballot Initiative 1A means that the voter believes that at least 60 percent of the existing lodging tax revenue should be used to support housing and childcare when it comes to the tourism-related workforce. This means workers in tourism, such as seasonal workers and other workers in the community, will get housing and childcare support if this passes. Taxes will not be raised. In addition, up to 40 percent of the lodging tax revenue will continue to be used for advertising and marketing local tourism.
A vote "NO" on Ballot Initiative 1A means nothing will change when it comes lodging tax. No lodging tax revenue will go to support housing and childcare when it comes to the tourism-related workforce. All of the lodging tax revenue will be used for advertising and marketing local tourism.
