What a Yes and No vote means.
The term limit for City Council members is three consecutive terms. If members are appointed to fill a vacancy, that partial term is not counted. Any other partial term counts as a full term (e.g., if a council member resigns prior to the natural end of their term). A person reaching a term limit is ineligible for election or appointment until they have been out of office for one full term.
The term limit for City Council members is 12 consecutive years or three terms, whichever occurs first. There is no provision for election or appointment after the term limit is reached.
