TITLE:PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE VILLAGE OF DOBBS FERRY LENGTH OF SERVICE AWARD PROGRAM FOR THE BENEFIT OF ELIGIBLE MEMBERS OF THE DOBBS FERRY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENTPROPOSITION:Do you vote in support of amending the Dobbs Ferry Length of Service Award Program ( ) for the benefit of the eligible members of the Dobbs Ferry Volunteer Fire Department?A vote will amend the LOSAP for eligible members of the Dobbs Ferry Volunteer Fire Department to extend the maximum years of credit to 50 years and increase the monthly service award to $30 effective January 1, 2025. A vote will continue the LOSAP for eligible members of the Dobbs Ferry Volunteer Fire Department at the current maximum years of service of 40 years and maximum monthly service award of $20.ABSTRACT:In 1991, the Dobbs Ferry Village Board of Trustees adopted a length of service award program ( ) for the benefit of the members of the Dobbs Ferry Volunteer Fire Department. The Village proposes to increase the maximum years of service credit from 40 years to 50 years, and to increase the monthly service award under the program from $20 to $30. The annual funding cost to the Village of the current LOSAP for 2024 was approximately $106,000, or $1,232 per participating volunteer firefighter. The annual funding cost of the amended LOSAP effective January 1, 2025 is estimated to be approximately $160,000, or $1,860 per participating volunteer firefighter.
