Family Judge Marks is married to Renae (Christensen) and they have three children.
Lucas County Common Pleas Court, General Division: Mar. 2021 - Present

I have presided over 21 jury trials and 5 bench trials.
I served as an assistant public defender for 10 years before taking the bench, and was in private practice as a trial attorney for over 15 years. I represented clients in all stages of litigation throughout Northwest Ohio on felony matters ranging from rape, felonious assault, and aggravated drug trafficking to probation violations and traffic offenses.

I have extensive research and writing experience, having provided appellate representation to clients in over 60 direct appeals that covered areas of the law which included medical malpractice, personal injury, family law, administrative law, and criminal defense.

I was ready to take the bench from day one when I was appointed to this position in 2021, and have applied my courtroom and research background to this new position for the past three years as I have presided over a docket that routinely consists of 220-250 pending matters on any given month.
It has been an honor and privilege to serve the citizens of Lucas County for the past three years as a judge in the Common Pleas Court, General Division and this fall I am running to retain that position for a new term.
