I believe any decisions a woman makes about her reproductive health is between the woman and her doctor, this includes contraception and access to IVF. I do not support the current NH abortion law especially because it does not account for the cases of rape or incest and it criminalizes doctors. NH is going to find itself without OBGYNs soon because what doctor is going to want to come to a state where they can go to jail for treating their patients as they see fit.
As of August 2024 the NH unemployment rate is 2.6%. This means, most NH residents who want to be working are employed which is good news. As good as that news is, there are still people who, for whatever reason are struggling. As far as my district goes, the issue of affordable housing ties into the cost of living and wages. In my district many people would like to work in our area, but due to unavailable housing or housing being too expensive we lose workers. I would like to see NH increase minimum wage to help with the living wage for families. I would also like to see NH incentivize businesses to hire people with disabilities through specialized training programs.
I support the concept of Accessory Dwelling Units by allowing people to build additional living space on their current lots. This is not going to be a quick fix, but if more people have the opportunity to rent areas of their property to others then that helps both the homeowner and the renter.
I feel that our NH elections are secure as they are. There are no reports of wide spread fraud. I am sure there are people who try to vote twice or in two states but those are so minimal I do not feel it necessary to change the current law.
We need to be vigilant about protecting our natural resources which make NH such a fantastic state. Part of that means embracing alternate energy sources such as solar and wind. I would encourage incentives for installation of solar panels and net metering.
