With 29 years of small business experience in the private sector and 13 years of experience in local government as an elected official, I have a balanced and broad perspective on things that are important to both operations and responsible management of budgets and available funds. My fiscally conservative philosophy seeks to use available resources wisely, focusing on preventative maintenance, energy and operational efficiency, employee morale, empowerment, and retention, long-term planning, and strategic succession planning. Served as President of Ashtabula Area Chamber of Commerce, AHS/HHS/LHS Alumni Association Board, Ashtabula Elks Lodge #208, and the Eastgate Council of Governments Finance Executive Committee.
I have enjoyed the privilege of serving as your county commissioner and working with a wonderful staff and other elected officials. But there is unfinished business. First, to bring reliable and affordable broadband internet to every resident and business in Ashtabula County. Secondly, water and wastewater infrastructure. We continue to identify projects and invest in making them shovel ready to be prepared when grant dollars or funding sources become available. Third, to find a long-term solution for addressing our unacceptable jail situation. And finally, to be a resource for members of our community. My goal is to be as transparent and accessible as possible focusing on public safety, economic development, and quality of life issues.
