I am a speech-language pathologist, special education teacher, and reading specialist who has served students in Nebraska public schools for 25+ years. My recent experience in public education allows me to understand the current challenges and opportunities facing our education system. I have seen firsthand the impact of effective teaching practices and the importance of providing support for all students to thrive academically and socially.
One of my areas of expertise is in providing reading instruction aligned with the Science of Reading. I am highly knowledgeable and experienced in research-supported literacy instruction and will work to ensure that students have access to the tools and resources they need to become skilled readers. I am also dedicated to promoting high-quality professional development for educators, as this has been demonstrated to increase student achievement.
