I have a lifelong commitment to the Indiantown community and a vested interest in its future. Professionally, my background in criminal justice and public service has taught me accountability, sound decision-making, and the importance of serving others with integrity. My service on the Village Planning, Zoning, and Appeals Board has given me firsthand experience reviewing growth, infrastructure, and land use decisions that impact our residents. I bring experience, transparency, and a commitment to listening, asking tough questions, and making decisions that put the people of Indiantown first.
Home rule is essential because local leaders and residents understand their community’s needs better than anyone else. While the state has an important role, one-size fits all policies don’t always reflect local priorities. If the state advances policies or economic development that conflict with Indiantown’s interests, I will advocate for our residents by working with our legislative delegation, neighboring municipalities, and local organizations to ensure our concerns are heard. I will support strong local policies where legally permitted, insist on transparency and public input, and ensure any proposal is evaluated based on its impacts to infrastructure, water, public safety, the environment, and our quality of life.
If property taxes are reduced or eliminated, the Village must protect essential services like public safety, roads, drainage, water infrastructure, and parks. Before considering cuts, I would support a thorough budget review to eliminate waste, pursue state and federal grants, improve operational efficiency, and ensure new development pays its fair share of infrastructure costs. The Village should begin contingency planning now so we’re prepared if changes occur. Our response should be fiscally responsible, transparent, and focused on maintaining the quality of services residents rely on without placing unnecessary burdens on taxpayers.
Addressing homelessness requires compassion, accountability, and partnerships. The Village cannot solve this challenge alone, but we can work with Martin County, local nonprofits, faith-based organizations, healthcare providers, and social service agencies to connect individuals with housing, mental health services, substance abuse treatment, job training, and employment resources. I also support pursuing grants and coordinating outreach to prevent homelessness before it occurs. Our goal should be to help people regain stability while protecting public health, safety, and the quality of life for all residents.
Protecting the Indian River, Indian River Lagoon, and the Everglades starts with responsible local decisions. I will support development that protects water quality by requiring strong stormwater management, preserving wetlands where possible, and ensuring projects comply with environmental regulations. I also support investing in infrastructure that reduces runoff and protects our waterways, pursuing grants for restoration and resiliency projects, and partnering with Martin County, state agencies, and environmental organizations. Protecting these ecosystems is essential to our environment, economy, and the quality of life that makes Indiantown unique.
