While gun violence isn’t a significant issue in our city, I am a strong supporter of our outstanding law enforcement personnel who work tirelessly to keep us safe. To ensure we continue this record of safety, I propose strengthening community-police relations through outreach programs, advocating for mental health resources, and promoting firearm safety education. Additionally, I support increasing the presence of school resource officers to ensure the safety of our youth. By working closely with law enforcement and providing them with the resources they need, we can maintain our community’s safety and prevent future issues.
To address the growing water shortage in Central Florida, I propose focusing on conservation, resource management, and innovation. We can encourage water-saving practices by offering incentives for low-flow fixtures and native landscaping. Expanding reclaimed water systems will reduce reliance on potable water, and we must also protect our natural resources. One key resource is our artesian well, which discharges 800,000 to 1 million gallons of fresh water daily. Tapping into and managing this well can help ease local water demands. Finally, raising public awareness about conservation and investing in infrastructure upgrades are critical steps toward a sustainable future.
In our community, the two most pressing issues are financial accountability and failing infrastructure.

For financial accountability, I propose implementing transparent budgeting processes and regular audits to ensure taxpayer money is spent effectively. By prioritizing essential services and pushing off extracurricular projects until our infrastructure is repaired, we can focus our resources where they are needed most.

Addressing failing infrastructure requires a comprehensive assessment of our current systems, particularly stormwater and wastewater facilities. I propose prioritizing repairs and upgrades by creating a detailed infrastructure improvement plan, funded through grants and partnerships. We should also explore innovative solutions, such as green infrastructure, to enhance stormwater management. By combining these approaches, we can build a more resilient community that effectively manages its resources and infrastructure.
To encourage the development of workforce housing while using infrastructure efficiently, our city benefits from a multitude of options for affordable housing, thanks to the developments passed under the “Live Local” initiative. These projects not only provide much-needed housing but also leverage existing infrastructure effectively.

Additionally, I want to address the redirection of the Lorianne Lane beautification funds that were used to build pickleball courts. I propose restoring these funds to enhance our community’s aesthetics and promote a vibrant environment for all residents. By ensuring that our infrastructure supports affordable housing and beautification efforts, we can create a more appealing and accessible community for everyone.
To address the challenge of building community amidst the rapid growth in Seminole County, I propose enhancing our existing town hall events to encourage resident participation, fostering a sense of belonging.

Investing in parks, recreational facilities, and inviting gathering spaces will promote social interaction and strengthen community ties. Supporting local events, such as farmers' markets and cultural festivals, can unite residents and enhance local pride.

Collaboration with schools, businesses, and nonprofits will help develop programs that address community concerns and promote volunteerism. Finally, ensuring that new developments incorporate community-friendly designs, such as walkable neighborhoods and mixed-use spaces, will enhance connectivity. By focusing on these strategies, we can create a strong, cohesive community that thrives despite the rapid growth in our region.
