VOTE411 Voter Guide

Minnesota State House District 38A

The lower chamber of the Minnesota legislature has two representatives per senate district for a total of 134. Representatives are elected every two years. They write and vote on legislation to create, repeal, or change state laws affecting many issues, like health care, the environment, and the economy. They also vote on state taxes and the state spending. What your state legislature does affects many facets of your life—the taxes you pay, the highways on which you drive, public schools, the state-supported colleges and universities you or your children might attend, the state parks that provide recreation for you and your family, social programs, and funding for the judicial system.A forum for the candidates in this race will be held on September 26, 2024, at 6:30pm at Brooklyn Park City Hall and available for later viewing via CCX Media.

My primary focus will be on: 1. Public Safety: Strengthening community policing efforts, supporting initiatives that enhance neighborhood safety, and fostering partnerships to address local crime concerns effectively. 2. Healthcare: Advocating for affordable and accessible healthcare options, reducing healthcare disparities, and improving healthcare outcomes for all residents. 3. Education and Childcare: Investing in early childhood education programs, ensuring adequate funding for schools, and supporting educators with resources and fair compensation to provide quality education. These priorities are interconnected and critical for building safe, healthy, and thriving communities where every individual has the opportunity to thrive!
To support a vibrant economy across Minnesota and address inflation, I will advocate for strategic investments in infrastructure projects that create jobs and stimulate economic growth. Additionally, I will support policies that promote small business development, workforce training programs, and measures to stabilize essential goods prices to mitigate inflationary pressures.
I would support legislation that promotes equitable access to education, healthcare, housing, and economic opportunities. This includes measures to address systemic biases in criminal justice, healthcare, and employment, aiming to ensure fair treatment and equal opportunities for all Minnesotans.
I would support legislation promoting renewable energy adoption, incentivizing green technology development, and enhancing resilience against climate impacts. Additionally, measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, protect natural habitats, and promote sustainable agriculture would be priorities to mitigate and adapt to climate change in Minnesota.

My top priorities will be to 1) Work with my colleagues to reverse the destructive and costly legislation enacted by the current Democrat trifecta, who kept billions in excess tax dollars. Included in that will be the push to uncover the truth behind the Feed our Future scandal, and hold accountable those who stole hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars, distributing it to shell LLC organizations. 2) Work with county and local law enforcement to begin to take measures that will crackdown on violent crimes against persons and property. 3) Work on restoring K-12 education with a strong curriculum of reading, math, and sciences, and eliminating the indoctrination of our children with dangerous and harmful ideologies.
I would support a sharp reduction in the state budget by eliminating wasteful and fraudulent spending. Incentivize businesses and taxpayers to remain in Minnesota. Remove harmful regulations and requirements on businesses that make it difficult to hire or remove employees. Promote law and order that will protect businesses. Promote core curriculum education to raise up productive, prosperous citizens. Eliminate programs that destroy the nuclear family. Reduce business fees and taxes.
Disparities are a fact of life. I would not support any legislation that is intended to create equity based on race, ethnicity, gender, or status. I would promote legislation that fosters and opens opportunities that are equally available. I would promote programs that build strong families, peaceful communities, successful schools, thriving businesses, and prosperous citizens. I support the enforcement of all constitutional laws that maintain law and order in our communities.
I heartily support maintaining a clean environment, which protects and manages our natural resources, but environment is not climate. I support the use and production of fossil fuels and I oppose legislation that will restrict or eliminate fossil fuels and nuclear energy. I support the exploration and research into other sources of energy, but would oppose legislation that will use taxpayer’s money to subsidize inefficient alternative energy sources and products that benefit some and not all.
