Candidate Information I was raised in Holton until junior high. I moved back to Holton 39 years ago to raise our kids. For 28 years my business has been in Holton. I am committed to family and home.
I am the current supervisor. My goal is to fix the roads in Holton and make sure we have a sound budget. I want to stay the course. We now have a dedicated road fund. I have been focused on our budget to make sure we are fiscally sound. So far I have been achieving that goal. I have not taken a raise during my entire term, that is how dedicated I am. I also ran on not raising taxes. I have not and will not.
The biggest issue I hear about our keeping our community away from big government and no more laws, fix the roads and internet. I am doing my best at not creating a bigger more controlling township government. I am working on roads, 30 years of neglect takes along time to fix. Holton residents started speaking up loudly about internet service. The private business sector was listening and are creating and building more internet lines and access for our residents.
We use the township web site. All major zoning or ordinances changes, critical election information and budget hearings are put in the Muskegon Chronicle. A Facebook page has been made for our township to post. We try to use it as well. I encourage the residents to call the township hall with any issues. We can't address issues if we don't know about them. I have always had an open door policy. I have made my personal cell number available 24/7. My business landline is available almost 24/7. If we don't' answer leave a message. Any township resident can contact me at any time. We will continue on this path. It is not uncommon for residents to stop at my home and chat about the township. Some resident contact my wife on Facebook.
