Candidate Information It has been my pleasure to serve the residents of Hopkins Township as Supervisor for more than 27 years. As an example of my commitment to the residents of Hopkins Township, I have found it beneficial to the community to serve on other boards such as: • Hopkins Area Fire Board as current Chair • Wayland Area Ambulance as member • Allegan County Cities, Township and Villages forum as co-chair. I will continue to always be available to the constituents in person, by email or phone.
To continue partnering with our neighboring communities to share expenses, such as, working with the Village of Hopkins on the first ever, Parks and Recreation Plan and Community Development Plan, working with Monterey Twp on the 9-day early voting, continue the collaborative efforts of the Hopkins Area Fire Department and the Hopkins District Library which includes Watson Twp, Monterey Twp, the Village of Hopkins and Hopkins Twp. I will continue to work to preserve our rural and farming community character.
The Township is facing development and growth along the US 131 Corridor. I will continue to work with the Township Board, the Township Planning Commission and neighboring community leaders to work out a development plan that preserves the rural, agricultural character of the township while allowing for commercial and industrial growth in designated areas of Hopkins Township.
The best tools of communication for Hopkins Township residents are the Hopkins Township Website and the bi-annual newsletter that is included with the tax bills. Residents are always welcome to contact me by email and phone.
