Nevada State Assembly District 42
The Nevada State Assembly is the lower chamber of the state Legislature and works alongside the Senate to draft, debate, and enact state laws. All 42 Assembly seats are up for election in 2026, and the Assembly plays a central role in shaping policy on schools, healthcare, housing, jobs, public safety, and state budgeting. Because Assembly members represent local districts and serve two-year terms, these races allow voters to hold lawmakers closely accountable and ensure that policy priorities reflect the needs and values of their communities. These elections matter for democratic representation and for how the state resolves the biggest challenges facing Nevadans.

There are a number of immigration policies I support. First, we need a fair and legal path to immigration that is accessible to immigrants. Second, work programs are needed. Third, access to healthcare, education, and legal representation are all necessary parts of the process. Check out my voting record on the Nevada Legislative webpage to see more of the measures I support.
I believe an appropriate representation of voting blocks is essential to fair elections. Any redistricting that separates communities with shared interests is oppositional and inappropriate. Communities of color with shared interests deserve to have their votes determine representation. Boundaries should reflect communities and allow fair representation. My district is primarily made up of what is considered minority populations. Here, that is the majority. Fair representation of those communities and the issues that affect them is essential.
I am working on a number of policies. A top priority for the next cycle is the Perinatal Quality Collaborative. Nevada is one of the two remaining states that do not have a PQC. This policy has come before the legislative body previously, and I believe we have all the pieces necessary to get it across the finish line. Engaging the Nevada Health Authority and Federal grant funding was necessary to ensure we can provide better care for moms and babies. I am also working on policies that ensure healthcare for perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause care.
