VOTE411 Voter Guide

Nevada State Assembly District 41

The Nevada State Assembly is the lower chamber of the state Legislature and works alongside the Senate to draft, debate, and enact state laws. All 42 Assembly seats are up for election in 2026, and the Assembly plays a central role in shaping policy on schools, healthcare, housing, jobs, public safety, and state budgeting. Because Assembly members represent local districts and serve two-year terms, these races allow voters to hold lawmakers closely accountable and ensure that policy priorities reflect the needs and values of their communities. These elections matter for democratic representation and for how the state resolves the biggest challenges facing Nevadans.

What policies, if any, would you support at the state level to address issues related to immigration, and why?

What are your views on the redistricting process and how district boundaries should be determined?

What is one state policy or process you would seek to improve, and how would you accomplish that change?

As the grandson of Mexican immigrants and a union worker, I know how essential immigrant communities are to Nevada. I support policies that protect immigrant workers from exploitation, expand access to healthcare and education, and ensure families feel safe engaging with their communities. That includes limiting local law enforcement’s role in federal immigration enforcement. While federal reform is needed, Nevada can lead by protecting workers, supporting families, and recognizing the contributions immigrants make to our economy every day.
Redistricting should be fair and transparent. The voters should choose their representatives, not the other way around. I support a process that prioritizes keeping communities of interest together, especially working class neighborhoods and communities of color. I am open to reforms that increase independence and strengthen public input to prevent partisan gerrymandering. District lines should always reflect real communities.
I would focus on strengthening Nevada’s economy by creating good paying jobs and diversifying beyond gaming. We need to attract new industries like clean energy, advanced manufacturing, and tech while supporting small businesses and protecting union jobs. I would also work to maximize tourism revenue by investing in infrastructure, events, and workforce development to keep Las Vegas competitive globally. By growing our economy responsibly, we can generate more state revenue to fund education, healthcare, and housing while ensuring working families benefit from that growth.

I support restarting the Office for New Americans, and holding the companies that contract with ICE legally accountable for violating the constitution.
I feel that communities deserve to be represented, so I believe in common interest seats drawn in the process, but instead the districts seem to be drawn to protect certain majorities and certain seats.
We need to reform our elections. I am not taking corporate donations, and I do not believe that corporations should be able to donate directly to candidates. I would start by eliminating the donation window between Election Day and the start of the Legislative Session.

Although we cannot provide immigration reform at a state level, we can support our community through outreach and community engagement efforts by making sure our immigrant community understands their rights and opportunities. Some of their biggest concerns are safety and trust. We need to reinforce our support in humanity as many immigrants have been a part of the workforce, participated in economic development through business ownership and job growth, home-ownership, etc. Regardless of status, all Nevadans deserve the right to feel safe. As a daughter of an immigrant, I have witnessed first-hand the imbalance of power and fear; no one should feel that unless you are breaking the law, most people are looking to provide for their family.
The Voting Rights Act should be top of mind to ensure fair opportunities when reviewing redistricting. District boundaries should be determined through the legislature however I am not opposed to an independent council/commission, comprised of bi-partisan citizens, bi-partisan elected officials and subject matter experts to be a part of the process. This could instill more faith in the system for voters, having an active role in redistricting. They could then provide their suggestions to the legislation and move forward from there.
I would like to increase attainable housing by modernizing local zoning laws and fast-tracking the development of the "missing middle" housing. I would incorporate industry experts, community stakeholders and officials to participate in the solution. My recommendations would be zoning and regulatory reform, financial incentives and funding, and public/private implementation. Collectively we could work together to solve the housing crisis and make housing more attainable however we need all active in the conversation to provide real solutions without unintentional consequences. Housing is not a partisan issue, it affect us all.
