All 42 Assembly seats are up for election in 2026, and the Assembly plays a central role in shaping policy on schools, healthcare, housing, jobs, public safety, and state budgeting. Because Assembly members represent local districts and serve two-year terms, these races allow voters to hold lawmakers closely accountable and ensure that policy priorities reflect the needs and values of their communities. These elections matter for democratic representation and for how the state resolves the biggest challenges facing Nevadans.

We are a nation of immigrants, and we should value the hard work and contributions of our immigrant neighbors, not demonize and detain them.
I secured $2 million to provide free legal support to families in immigration court, protected personal data at the DMV and schools from being shared with ICE, and banned ICE from our school campuses. I have provided letters of support to help neighbors detained by ICE, and called on Congress to defund this rogue agency after the tragedies in Minnesota.
I support stronger requirements for officers to have identification and restricting their ability to wear masks. I also want to empower our state law enforcement and prosecutors to hold ICE officers accountable if they commit crimes like murder.
I personally believe that redistricting should be done by an independent body focused on creating boundaries that most accurately reflect our communities. It is important to make sure those making the decisions reflect the geographic, demographic, and political diversity of our state.
However, redistricting is always a political process attempting to balance multiple goals. We have seen Republicans weaponize redistricting to increase their power, and it's important that Democrats fight back and refuse to let them tilt the system in their favor.
Data centers are growing rapidly. Nevada provides incentives for companies to build these facilities, but they can threaten our limited water supplies and their massive energy use can lead to new utility spending that raises electricity bills for residents and small businesses. And it can lead to building new polluting power plants that keep us from meeting our clean energy targets.
I am proposing to put new protections in place to ensure that data centers cover all of the costs to provide them with electricity, and to require them to meet low water usage standards moving forward. I have the experience of getting ideas passed into law to make this happen.
