Experience in the public sector, a passion for public service and good character make me the most qualified candidate for the position.
My goals are to continue moving the equity, social and prosperity needles forward for all Kent county residents. By working with our partners, leaders and community members we can accomplish most anything even with limited resources.
Housing availability and affordability, affordable and safe childcare and the cost of living are the most important challenges facing our community at the moment. I plan to continue advocating for the resources and programs that will make the most impact in changing the narrative. The Housing Loan Revolving Fund and flexible Ready by Five funding streams could solve many of the most important community challenges. Working with county administration to change and update policy and ordinances to allow for sustainable housing solutions and workforce development that includes solutions for families is of utmost importance. I will continue voting for and supporting policies that meet these objectives.
A vibrant economy comes about when government and business are on the same page. I support the Right Place and the GR Chamber in the work they are doing to grow the business economy in West Michigan. With committed partners, the county can continue to innovate and grow Kent county for years to come.
