A top issue facing constituents in my district is lack of affordability - in housing, child care, higher education, health care, etc. I will continue work in each of these sectors to bring down costs for consumers when it comes to junk fees, prescription drugs, child care and more.
I will work to expand access to affordable child care for families. We have made progress by implementing free universal PreK, and it is critical that we continue our work to address the high cost of child care for our infants and toddlers. I will continue the work to increase the availability of affordable housing in the state, especially for middle income families. I will work to address the junk fees levied by corporations that pad their profits by increasing consumers' bills on everything from rent to minor purchases.
Colorado has made clear that its policy is to leave enforcement of federal immigration laws to federal officials and that the state should not participate in that enforcement.
Colorado should continue to invest and encourage development of clean energy plans that move our energy supply off of fossil fuels and into renewable energy.
I support Amendment 79 that would enshrine the right to abortion in the Colorado constitution and repeal the current prohibition on the use of state funds for abortion services.
The Colorado election system is the gold standard of the nation. We conduct free and fair elections with the utmost fidelity to the law, while ensuring that voting is easy and accessible to eligible voters. We conduct risk limiting audits to demonstrate that election outcomes reflect the ballots counted. It is a system to be proud of and replicated around the country.
