Arlington County Board Democratic Primary
The five-member County Board is Arlington’s governing body. Board members, who are elected at large (that is, to represent the whole county rather than specific districts), serve four-year terms. For more information on the County Board, visit https://countyboard.arlingtonva.us.Virginia is an open primary state, meaning that voters do not register by political party. Any registered voter is eligible to vote in any primary election. However, if both the Democratic and Republican parties hold primaries on the same day, voters must choose which party ballot they wish to vote.

In your opinion, what are the three most pressing issues facing Arlington County in the coming year? In the coming decade?
What actions, if any, should the County Board take to support Arlington residents given recent changes to federal agencies and programs?
What can the County do to meet its housing needs, both in terms of inventory and affordability? What additional zoning changes, if any, would you support?
What additional actions, if any, should the County take to address commercial vacancy rates?
What role should the County Board play in ensuring that elections held in Arlington are safe, secure, and accessible to all voters?
I oppose appealing Judge Schell’s decision. The Missing Middle will NOT create affordable housing. Prices for the new units exceed $1,000,000.00. The Missing Middle will increase traffic, make parking impossible, overwhelm our sewer and stormwater drainage systems, obliterate the tree canopy, create overcrowding in local schools, and irrevocably change the character of our neighborhoods.
I was appalled by the Trump administration’s decision to fire federal employees. I believe that the County should try to rehire these employees if possible and if not, at least provide them with job training, networking opportunities, and job fairs.
I would recommend that the County Board encourage real estate developers to convert vacant office space to living space to create more affordable housing and also require developers to set aside units for low income housing. I would also require the government to provide subsidies for low-income housing.
I recommend temporarily lowering or eliminating business taxes for new businesses and adjusting zoning to allow businesses.
We should fight any attempts by the Trump administration to place restrictions on voting.
