The purpose of Florida’s District Courts of Appeal is to provide the opportunity for thoughtful review of decisions of lower tribunals by multi-judge panels. District Courts of Appeal correct harmful errors and ensure that decisions are consistent with our rights and liberties. This process contributes to the development, clarity, and consistency of the law.Term: 6 Years Salary: $212,562Joe Boatwright is a judge of the Florida 5th District Court of Appeal. He assumed office on January 1, 2023. His current term ends on January 7, 2025.Prior to his appointment to the Fifth District Court of Appeal, Judge Boatwright served as a county court judge in Putnam County for ten years and as an acting circuit court judge in the Seventh Judicial Circuit.
