We need to start by eliminating the massive amounts of waste and fraud in our Medicare and Medicaid systems. The fraud is driving up costs for everyone. We need to return to allowing consumers to choose low cost policies that cover catastrophic events while also allowing them to pay cash out-of-pocket at a lower reduced price for other medical needs and utilize HSAs and other vehicles to drive savings. Third-party insurance companies are driving up the costs unnecessarily and all costs for any medical procedures should be clearly published so that consumers have the ability when available and in nonemergency situations to choose a provider who competes in the open market to provide them with the best price for the service provided.
Continue to secure the border to prohibit illegal immigration into the United States. Deportations of people who have illegally entered into the country need to continue and increase in speed. We must focus on taking care of ALL Americans and protecting the American Dream for our own children first and foremost. We need to have an immigration system that rewards those who wish to work hard and contribute in a meaningful way to our society. They must become a true American who values our heritage and our ideals of freedom, personal accountability, and belief in one nation under God.
Mail-in voting needs to be prohibited except for overseas ballots and military who are deployed. Paper backup ballots need to be stored securely for all machine voting to withstand any needed audit. Election day should be a national holiday so that everyone can be given at least two hours off from work to go vote. All election ballots should be counted by the end of Election Day. Photo ID and proof of US Citizenship in ALL elections is a non negotiable requirement for any election and any level in any state. Early voting to allow manageable flexibility and maximum accessibility should be limited to the previous week before Election Day.
The primary role of Congress is to set an annual budget. Continuing resolutions without a budget show that Congress in its current state is broken and is abdicating its responsibility to protect the American taxpayer and to set a reasonable budget. It’s important for Congress to hold the executive accountable, but also to work with the executive to pursue the best interest of the American people. The divisive politics in which hunts for political purposes, do not make life better for Americans. Congress also needs to reduce regulations where possible to roll back the administrative bureaucracy that has become completely unaccountable to the American taxpayer. The Senate needs to only approve judicial nominees who are thoroughly qualified.
