The Metro Council is responsible for regional planning and management, including management and amendment of the Urban Growth Boundary, many parks and regional attractions like the zoo, and regional transportation as well as mass transit. Metro Councilors must be a qualified Oregon elector when term of office begins, and must have resided within the Metro district from which elected for at least a year before their term begins.Term: 4 years Metro Councilors are elected by district. The position is nonpartisan. Salary: $52,847
