District 6 Delegates to the Democratic National Convention {_getChooseLabel(this.selections.length)}

DUTIES: Convention delegates elected in the Primary are part of the state delegations that officially select their party’s presidential candidate at the party’s national conventions. Presidential nominees are not elected directly by the voters in the Primary. Rather, voters in each state choose delegates to represent them at the national conventions.HOW ELECTED: Democratic voters will elect delegates to their national convention from each Congressional District (CD), with the number based on the number of Democratic voters in that district. Each Congressional District will elect approximately equal numbers of female and male delegates, with some non-binary delegates included within the state total. Each candidate’s gender will be listed under their name on the ballot. The presidential candidates will receive delegates in proportion to their share of the vote in that district. I served as a Convention Delegate in 2012. I have attended the Convention, though not as a delegate, in both 2008 and 2016. Additionally, I have served in elected office as a member of the Allegany County Democratic Central Committee, as a Cumberland City Council member and as Mayor of the City of Cumberland for 8 years.
President Biden has fulfilled commitments of his campaign and has been among the most consequential and effective presidents of all time. From leadership on healthcare, voting rights, climate change, women's rights and education, to infrastructure, he has navigated the challenges of leadership to get critical problems solved. Following a global pandemic, President Biden's American Rescue Plan, investment in children and community infrastructure reinvestment, have made significant impacts.
