District 2 Delegates to the Democratic National Convention {_getChooseLabel(this.selections.length)}

DUTIES: Convention delegates elected in the Primary are part of the state delegations that officially select their party’s presidential candidate at the party’s national conventions. Presidential nominees are not elected directly by the voters in the Primary. Rather, voters in each state choose delegates to represent them at the national conventions.HOW ELECTED: Democratic voters will elect delegates to their national convention from each Congressional District (CD), with the number based on the number of Democratic voters in that district. Each Congressional District will elect approximately equal numbers of female and male delegates, with some non-binary delegates included within the state total. Each candidate’s gender will be listed under their name on the ballot. The presidential candidates will receive delegates in proportion to their share of the vote in that district. My parents always instilled in me that just because you start with nothing, does not mean you have nothing to offer. As a son of immigrants, I have dedicated my life to service and making sure everyone has a voice. My work in the Democratic party reflects this devotion and I am ready to bring that passion to the convention.
We are at a critical juncture in our nation. We can either move forward and continue the progress we have been making, or move backwards and risk fracturing the institutions of our democracy. President Biden has presented a bold vision for America that includes investing in our education system, upgrading our aging infrastructure, combating climate change, and fighting for working families. I am excited to pledge my support for him.

As a student of civic process I have studied to achieve my Bachelor’s Degree of Government and Politics as well as Master’s Degree of Public Policy from the University of Maryland. I have worked for a Congressional Representative, Candidates for Mayor, State Senate, Governor, and President. As well as various legal, policy think tank, and US Department of Commerce roles. I describe myself as an anti-corruption humanitarian. I advocate for economy rights, civic policy juries, and sectoral unions.
Marianne Williamson is of good will towards all people. She has a profoundly positive vision for the betterment of each individual and society at large. Her major policy proposal of an Economic Bill of Rights for the 21st Century stands as a testament to the power of We the People. It is important to note her feminism, womanism, and motherism as her guiding light for an ethics of care. She proposes a moral bottom line as a response to corrupted cultures, corporations, and politics. Choose LOVE.

I have volunteered for countless political campaigns including every Presidential race since 1988. Having attended seven previous Democratic National Conventions, I understand the commitment of helping my party prepare a platform, a strategy, and finalize our ticket. I currently serve as Chair of the Carroll County Central Committee and Secretary of the Maryland Democratic Party. It will be my responsibility to come home and lead my county and state in delivering a victory for the ticket.
Joe Biden has the skills and experience to lead our nation in these most difficult times. He has led us to the strongest economic recovery in the World. His programs have improved our infrastructure and created historic job growth. He has supported voting rights for all and the right of women to make their own healthcare decisions. We are currently facing international crises. Joe Biden has the temperament and knowledge to fulfill our role in resolving conflicts and protecting human rights.

As a Maryland State Senator, I have the opportunity to be in the community a lot and to hear directly from constituents about what is important to them. This informs my work as a legislator, and it will be invaluable if I am elected to be a delegate to the convention. I have attended 2 conventions as a delegate (one was virtual), understand the process as well as the district, and will be able to represent the views of my district as needed.
President Biden has been an incredibly productive leader. In the face of very difficult political headwinds, he has been able to get things done that are having a tremendous impact on individuals' lives and the life of this nation. He has led us out of COVID effectively, gotten resources to families and workers in need, is rebuilding our infrastructure and is committed to a greener and cleaner environment and an economy that works for all. He is also pro-choice, which is critical!

As a servant leader who is a housing and disabilities advocate, I convey the interests of constituents. I am well versed in domestic and international affairs, I know the role of a delegate through my participation in the National Association of Parliamentarians. I also am a member of the NAACP, Greater Baltimore Urban League, Blue & Gold Democratic Club (President), Baltimore Co. Community Planning Ambassador, and ΣΓΡ. I have a BA in Political Science and a Masters in Public Administration .
As a native Delaware, I have known President Biden my entire life. It would be an honor to serve as a Biden Delegate. President Biden has restored dignity to the office of President. His administration has increased resources for housing, provided relief for student debt, and addressed climate issues. I really like the President and the Vice President individually. As a result, I am lead for my area for Maryland Women For Biden. For all these reasons, I decided to pledge my support to Biden.
