Service comes in many forms. For me, it began with an oath to the U.S. Constitution when I joined the Army. My upbringing exposed me to diverse perspectives, creating building blocks that shaped who I am today.

Local governments directly impact citizens' lives, and I believe leaders can drive positive change. Though hesitant at first, I feel called to serve publicly, focusing on a win/win approach. Pulaski County, Arkansas, faces challenges with low growth rates. I see this as an opportunity to foster public-private partnerships that will benefit our community.

This is why I am running.
While college is a great way to lay a foundation for success, it is not the only way. Citizens who do not see a standard four-year degree as a way forward should not be destined for a less successful life. More can be done to inform and inspire young people about the skilled trades. Working with Pulaski County Community Services, I will secure funding for trade job apprenticeship programs in the skilled trades.

As an Iraqi war veteran, I will always support our brave women and men serving in the military. As a Justice of the Peace, I will work with Veteran Services to fund a full-time veterans support staff versus the current part-time position. This will help increase the efficiency of claims from our local service members.
Collaboration between government, nonprofits, and local businesses will be key. I want to utilize the Pulaski County Brownfields Program to use vacant or underused land for affordable housing projects. Tax credits for developers building mixed-income communities and allowing for more multi-family units can be beneficial. To preserve existing affordable housing, I advocate for rent control measures, increased funding for housing maintenance and rehabilitation programs, and establishing a local housing trust fund to support low-income homeowners and renters in maintaining their properties.
I want to reimagine how Pulaski County Community Services budgets for actual community work. While on the campaign trail, so many citizens had no idea of the County resources available to them. I believe more can be accomplished regarding community outreach. Getting the department involved with neighborhood association meetings and having a larger presence at different county and city events can be very beneficial. Community Services does so much as it relates to housing and healthcare. I want to make sure the citizens that we serve are completely aware.
