Training and Experience An Air Force Veteran who served our County and was inducted into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame in 2023. I work for an IT Small Business, Flairsoft Ltd., as their Director of Federal Programs. I am a three-time elected Sugarcreek Township Trustee overseeing Police, Fire, Roads & Services, Administration, and Zoning for a community of ~10K residents and a $11M+ Budget. I have additional experience in Business Development, Operations Management, Re-Engineering, and Technical Writing.

1) Economic Development – Working with organizations such as Jobs Ohio & DDC to ensure Ohio has a qualified workforce, affordable housing, and sufficient childcare providers. 2) Education – Return focus to core curriculum instruction, particularly in the STEAM areas, while advancing Career Center instruction, producing more skilled craftspeople.
I support Ohio’s decision that all voters casting their ballots in person must provide a government-issued photo ID at their polling place to allow poll workers to authenticate the identity and eligibility of each person. It should be noted that the Bureau of Motor Vehicles must issue state ID cards to Ohioans 17 and older who request them at no charge. I am also in favor of requiring absentee ballot applicants to include a copy of their government-issued photo identification with their application to receive a mail-in ballot, along with other unique identifying information, such as the last four digits of the voter’s Social Security number.
Public/Private collaboration is the best way to bring economic and job opportunities to Ohio. Organizations such as Jobs Ohio and the Dayton Development Coalition (DDC) are doing a fantastic job attracting business to Ohio, such as the Intel Chip Manufacturing Plant, the Honda and LG Energy Solution EV Battery Plant, and the Joby aircraft production facility. Ohio now has a low 3.2% unemployment rate and ranks number four in job creation in the USA. Ohio is known as a great place to live and work. We have relatively low tax rates, reasonable infrastructure, and access to domestic supply chains. The biggest things we need to work on are attracting a qualified workforce and creating more housing.
I support returning to the basics where teachers focus on core curriculum items such as Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). Such an approach increases student dialogue, critical thinking, and process-based learning, resulting in increased innovation, inquiry, and creativity. Further, Career Centers should be encouraged as they teach highly sought-after trade crafts. As taxpayer-funded organizations, schools should be held to curriculum transparency, making lesson plans readily accessible.
I advocate for Limited Government and common-sense Checks and Balances that help keep all levels of government honest and working for the people they represent. There are instances where the State must check Local Government operations, such as ensuring fiscal responsibility and transparency with tax-payer money or adherence to the Ohio Revised Code in a ‘Trust but Verify’ approach. State support for Local Governments is always a needed collaborative approach where the grassroots leaders can meet with legislators to propose Bills to help local communities operate better.
People should be told upfront what they will be charged for medical services, and I favor policies to promote greater healthcare price transparency. Most people do not have private health insurance but rather an employer-sponsored health insurance plan that they view as a ‘free” benefit that comes with the job. So, when patients don’t know the cost of medical services, they may opt for overly expensive options that will ultimately increase the costs for health benefits for the employer and lead to a corresponding wage/compensation decrease. There are several ways to utilize Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) that may encourage patients to consider cost-efficient medical providers if they know the upfront costs and realize some savings.
I am in favor of moving toward American Energy Independence, regardless of whether we are talking about oil development for gasoline-powered vehicles or the rare earth lithium, cobalt, and nickel metal development for Electric Vehicles. The post-pandemic 2021 semiconductor chip shortage for vehicles taught us that America is vulnerable if we are overly reliant on other countries to provide the products we need. The Intel Company coming to Ohio will ultimately improve the chip supply chain issue, but all energy solutions should undergo a balanced legislative approach that considers self-reliance, environmental policy, community impact, and natural resource management.
The Government’s role is to make provisions to ensure that no person is ever discriminated against, as was accomplished in the Fourteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which says that no State shall deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws. Further, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 holds that “No person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.” This Constitutional requirement of equal protection for all citizens helps ensure a just and fair society with legal ramifications for non-compliance.
