For more than two years I have been attending Comal County Commissioner's Court to address concerns, listen and learn about how our County works, provide information and recommendations to Commissioner's Court on a joint project. My background in operations management, specializing in business plans, budgeting, and contract negotiation, provides valuable experience for serving our County. I have not been a politician, I have been a leader and servant, always ready to assist residents and businesses as a fellow member of this great community. I'm dedicated to ensuring every resident, taxpayer, elected official, and business member feels confident in my availability and readiness to work on practical solutions for our community.
I prioritize local solutions and collaboration with local people for the evolving challenges in Comal County, spanning roadway planning, community services, and law enforcement. Responsible fiscal stewardship is crucial amid our growth. A comprehensive communication plan, partnering with our local stakeholders; conservation groups, elected officials, utilities, and citizens, will address water source awareness and conservation. Transparency, communication, and accessibility to leadership are paramount, ensuring my constant availability to constituents. Strengthening partnerships with public recreation stakeholders is key, focusing on safety, access, and implementing operational improvements.
I strongly believe that using my skill set I will be able to work with my peers, local stakeholders, other government entities and the community to develop a meaningful plan to protect the environment and water resources.
I am very hesitant to consider anything that has the effect of an additional tax burden on the members of our community, including using tax dollars to purchase land. A bond will increase taxes and impose debt on the people of this county who are already experiencing a significant tax burden. I believe there are far better solutions for conservation and parks that do not involve additional taxes.

I’ve worked as the District Director for Senator Donna Campbell over 2-1/2 years and before that, was the District Director for former State Representative Kyle Biederman. I’ve worked for CASA of Central Texas and the Salvation Army of Comal County in a “helping others” capacity. I spend my days working on local and state issues for constituents who contact our office. I never ask which political party someone belongs to; I ask how can I assist them. I have a solid understanding of the various levels of government, local ordinances, taxing entities and state law used to help find viable solutions. I am the only candidate with that level, depth and breadth of experience.
Public Safety; Water Shortages; Illicit Drugs; Human and Sex Trafficking; the Southern Texas Border; Transportation needs; Explosive Growth; Development; Property Rights; Dwindling Landscape; Mental Health needs; County Budget; Property Tax rate; Needs of Local Veterans; Integrity of our Elections; and the Probable Need for Expansion of Government Services without Raising Tax Rate.
I would support LIMITED authority from the State Legislature for counties. I do NOT support blanket authority under any circumstances; I see that as a blank check for some counties to expand government to the detriment of the taxpayers. I am interested in legislation that provides more avenues for Commissioners, such as the option to compromise lot-size regulations within new developments, tightening the guidelines for water companies when providing data on water stores to new developments, revisiting the statutes on Municipal Utility Districts "one-vote to pass", and revisiting the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) guidelines on development over the Edwards Aquifer recharge zone.
I would prefer to find another way to resolve this issue instead of passing a bond that would ultimately add to County debt and/or burden to current and future taxpayers. Personally, I'd like to sit down with landowners and discuss the various options available to them, whether it be helping them navigate the choices of entering a portion of their property into a state land trust or a state conservancy, whichever the landowner feels is best. Either protects, in perpetuity, that portion of property from future development and/or subdividing into parcels. (I attended a public workshop for a county-wide master plan for preserving some of our landscape in Feb. 2023; the 176-page Master Plan was released in Nov. of 2023: https://cceo.org/)
