Biographical Information

Hundreds of millions of Indiana taxpayers dollars are being allocated through the voucher program to private and religious schools. How can these non-public schools be held accountable to the same testing and fiscal transparency as the public school system?

Indiana is 7th in the nation for accidental shootings involving children and 57% of suicides are gun related. These deaths are preventable. As an elected official, what measures, if any, would you support to ensure gun safety and protect Hoosiers, especially our youth?

Policies that limit access to reproductive health care contribute to Indiana’s high mortality rates for both mothers and infants. What measures would you support to ensure quality, affordable reproductive healthcare for Hoosier women?

Indiana ranks near the bottom of states with restrictive voting laws and is the lowest for voter turnout nationwide. If elected, what measures would you recommend to increase voter access to the polls and encourage voter participation?

Indiana ranks in the bottom third of US States in both health care and mental health services. What policies would you support to ensure accessibility, affordability, and quality of care for all Hoosiers?

What else would you like to tell voters?

Any private or religious school receiving public voucher funds must be held to the same rigorous standards of accountability, testing, and fiscal transparency as public schools. Tax dollars demand full oversight - these institutions should be required to administer the same assessment tests, open their books for audits, and face consequences for underperformance just like public schools. We must not head down a path of dismantling public education. We must fund rural and urban schools and not overfund the voucher programs.
The epidemic of accidental shootings and stunningly high rate of gun suicides in Indiana is a preventable tragedy. As an elected official, I would support commonsense gun safety measures like required licensing, robust background checks, secure storage laws, and extreme risk protection orders to temporarily remove firearms from those threatening harm. Finally, Indiana needs to roll back our permitless carry law (House Enrolled Act 1296 [HEA 1296-2022]) Keeping our communities and youth safe has to be the priority.
Restricting access to reproductive health care is not only an attack on women's fundamental rights, but directly contributes to Indiana's poor rates of maternal and infant mortality. Obstetricians are leaving our state because of laws that prevent them from providing total care to women in our state. I support codifying Roe v Wade into state law, repealing dangerous near-total abortion bans, expanding Medicaid coverage for prenatal and postnatal care, and increasing funding for affordable contraception, cancer screenings, and comprehensive sex education statewide.
Indiana's restrictive voting laws and dismal voter participation rates undermine our democracy. If elected, I would advocate for policies like automatic and same-day voter registration, extended early voting periods, more conveniently located polling sites, reforming voter ID requirements that disenfranchise certain groups, as well as public education campaigns to encourage higher voter turnout.
To improve quality of and access to healthcare for all Hoosiers, I support policies like Medicaid expansion to close the coverage gap, increasing reimbursement rates to attract more providers statewide, caps on out-of-pocket costs, funding for more rural clinics and mobile health units, better mental health parity laws, and greater investment in preventative care measures. No Hoosier should go without affordable, accessible care.
I'm running for State Representative because after 17 years of stagnation, our district deserves real progressive leadership that uplifts all families. As a proud product of Indiana, mother of two, minister, and school board member, I've walked in your shoes. I know the struggles we face making ends meet, accessing quality healthcare, and affording a decent life for our children. Those lived experiences fuel my passion for creating tangible change.

My faith guides my belief that we all must lift up the vulnerable, be servants to each other, and leave no neighbor behind. That's the Indiana I was raised to love - where we show up for one another and move forward together.
