Occupation Police Officer
I am not a career politician; I am a career public servant. With 20 years in law enforcement, I learned that real service requires being accessible & engaged with the entire community. Serving as a City Councilman and now Mayor of Covington has given me invaluable insight and experience. Guided by my faith and convictions, I hold firm conservative values. Having faced adversity throughout my career, I am confident in my ability to stand resiliently against opposition & defend true Texas values.
We must strengthen border security and prioritize the removal of individuals with violent criminal records who entered the country illegally during the previous administration. At the same time, we should suspend visa programs from nations that are known to be hostile and threaten U.S. security. Equally important, we need to streamline and modernize the process for law-abiding, eligible immigrants who are legally pursuing citizenship or asylum.
We need greater transparency and accountability in government spending. Americans should not be misled by bills advertised as one thing while the bulk of the funding goes to foreign wars, foreign governments, or experimental projects. Members of Congress must engage openly with their constituents and be prepared to clearly explain and justify their votes on all spending votes.
I will not support any bill that restricts, limits, or infringes upon the constitutional rights of our citizens. I am firmly pro–Second Amendment and believe it deserves the same strong protection as the First Amendment. I am also firmly pro- Tenth Amendment and believe returning power to the state would stop government overreach.
We must continue cutting taxes and reducing regulations for small businesses, make housing more affordable by limiting large-scale purchases by Wall Street and big firms, and promote a more competitive healthcare system.
We should expand HSA limits and the associated tax incentives, allow more accessible cross-state insurance sales to foster competition, and require full price transparency for procedures and prescription drugs. Additionally, tax-free employer contributions should be broadened to let employees choose from multiple plans and options that best meet their needs.
