A family law attorney in Fort Bend County, Texas for almost two decades of legal experience assisting and representing clients on complex family law cases for custody and property disputes, enforcements, modifications, child support issues, grandparent rights, protective orders hearings, and Department of Family Protective Service cases. Compassionately and actively advocating for children in the courts as an attorney ad litem and an amicus attorney. Representing clients on disputes in mediation and arbitration. Immersed in cases with complex legal issues that require legal research of controlling cases and understanding of the Texas Family Code. Serving consistently and passionately with several nonprofit organizations in helping the community improve overall wellbeing.
1) Docket Control of Cases in the 387th Family District Court and 2) Inadequate direction and resources available to families navigating and resolving family law legal issues. I plan to implement docket control and scheduling orders in the 387th District Court. This will alleviate the issues with cases lingering for months even years. The lack of docket control leaves families in financial constraint, emotional and mental hardship. Scheduling orders will apply to all cases filed in the 387th for a timely resolution of the case for the families. The Court will allow open access to a court that schedules hearings timely, efficiently and immediately. The families will no longer have to wait a substantial amount of time to have their case heard and seek resolutions. Families will also be provided with a direction for resources.
I have been practicing in family law for over 29 years. I have handled cases in every aspect that this court considered. I have been a member of the Texas Bar College which means I have gone above and beyond the minimum continuing legal education requirements imposed by the State Bar of Texas. Also, my long time involvement and giving back to the community. I believe a Judge should have a pulse of the community in order to make decisions and rulings that affect the community. Also, while the rule of law will be applied, there are decisions in this area which require compassion, my faith will play largely as I will be led by a higher being.
I believe this court must get back to in person hearings and trials. Zoom hearings and trials were instituted as a need during the pandemic. The pandemic is over and this court needs to get back to in person hearings and trials. I will institute a policy will Zoom will only be used for prove ups of divorces and uncontested matters. Also, it takes a while to get a hearing and trial due to the backlog of cases. I will institute a docket control order to move cases along
