What training, experience and background make you the best qualified candidate to be your party’s nominee for this office?

What are the two most pressing issues that you will face as Constable for your precinct? Describe your specific plans/ideas for addressing these issues.

With over 19 years in law enforcement, including serving as a Sergeant, and more than 2500 hours of continuous education, I bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the table. My deep understanding of Fort Bend County's citizens, dedication to integrity within the department and community, and a history of positive engagement, all underscore my ability to prioritize community needs and effectively lead in this role.
As a constable, two issues I will face include ensuring community safety and effectively managing civil processing areas to support the Justice of the Peace. To address these, I plan to pursue additional funding to provide support for our officers, enabling us to enhance community safety and better serve local schools and businesses. Additionally, I aim to expand our staff by hiring more reserve officers, allowing us to increase capacity in civil processing areas. I will work closely with the County Commissioner to secure the necessary funding to meet the needs of our department and ensure efficient operations for our community.
I currently hold a Juris Doctorate Degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law, a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Forensic Psychology from Lamar University. I have nearly a decade of law enforcement experience with over 5500 Master Peace Officer training from the Texas Commission of Law Enforcement. I have a consistently demonstrated my commitment to the welfare of the residents of Pct 3 through various community engagement initiatives including but not limited to turkey drives, food drives, pet pantry's, Trunk or Treats, Christmas Drives and back-to school drives. Other community events I have put together as the Current Pct 3 Constable include roses for seniors on valentines day and our hoop to fight domestic violence.
Our most pressing issue is budgetary. We need a commissioner who is willing to collaborate with the Constable which is non-existent with the current Commissioner, which ultimately affects public safety and traffic mobility. Another pressing issue is hiring and recruiting quality police officers. During my tenure as Constable, we have advocated for more pay and incentive pay (bilingual pay, shift-differential pay, education pay) for our deputies.
