What motivated you to run for this office?
Describe your strongest competency and life experience that qualify you to hold this office.
During your campaign, what is the number one concern expressed to you by residents? What is your response to this concern?
Other than the issues previously addressed, what are your top three priorities, and, if elected, how would you address them?
I want to be a servant leader to the constituents of House District 34. Too often we see the bad side of politics, but politics can produce good results with the right leadership. I have a desire to help people, and I want to take what I have learned while being involved with my community and apply it to legislation that can improve life for all of us.
I have been involved with the Democratic Party since my 20’s as a campaign volunteer, community activist, voter registrar, precinct chair, labor representative, and election judge. I currently serve on the State Democratic Executive Committee. I am a high school teacher of 29 years, and have lived in the district for almost my entire life. I am an ethical person who cares about people, and I have a desire to improve life for the people in my community and in the Great State of Texas.
The main concern for the residents of House District 34 is the cost of living. We need high-paying local jobs, affordable healthcare, and affordable housing to bring some relief to our residents.
Three additional priorities are education, protection of our natural resources, and infrastructure development. I will work with organizations and experts to either support or create good legislation that addresses our needs.
