The most important responsibility of a Constable is to serve as a Certified Peace Officer with the authority to enforce the law in the precinct and county. Constables are also responsible for assisting the Justice of the Peace, including being present at all court proceedings and serving as the Bailiff for the court. These duties are required by law. Other duties consist of executing civil processes and serving subpoenas or warrants. Additionally, it is important for Constables to be a visible part of law enforcement and to assist other law enforcement agencies when needed. Overall, it is important for a Constable to uphold the law, ensure public safety and provide the necessary law enforcement services required in their precinct.

I feel the most important issue currently, is we do not have a Constable that is dedicated to the position. We need a Constable that will show up to court proceedings to Bailiff the court and and serve all required Civil Processes. We need a Constable that will be involved in the community, in the position of Constable, and have high visibility. We need a Constable that will enforce traffic on our highly travelled roadways throughout our precinct. We also need a Constable that will be seen in the schools, developing a relationship with the kids. I will address all of these issues by being a dedicated Constable who shows up for work and makes this position my number one priority. I will be committed to my job and to the people.

Public service, as a constitutionally elected Constable, i recognize & accept that I am given a special trust and confidence by the voters of precinct # 4, whom i have been elected by to serve and protect. I pledge to uphold this trust and confidence, and act accordingly to the highest personal and professional standards, furthermore I will abide by and administer the law so that equal protection of the law is guaranteed to everyone. Delivering fast and efficient, civil process paperwork when it comes across my desk is very important to me as well as providing courtroom security at Justice of the Peace hearings is also very important to me and this office.
I have 34+years of experience in the law enforcement field, I have attained the following proficiency certifications, Basic, Intermediate, advanced, and currently hold a master peace officer certification from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (Tcole). I have completed over 1533 Tcole hours of training and have numerous continuing education requirements at the Law Enforcement management institute of Texas, better known as Lemit, located on the campus of Sam Houston State University, in Huntsville, Tx.
I am a 36-year active member of the Schulenburg volunteer fire department, serving as foreman, past President, Sgt. at Arms, and current Vice- President. I been involved in public service, for the majority of my adult working life.
Making sure that the Constables position remains an active part of law enforcement here in Fayette County, in some west Texas counties the commissioners sought to abolish this position. Constables are a valuable asset to local Sheriff's Department, as they serve numerous civil process papers that would otherwise have to be served by deputies, thus taking them away from their everyday duties such as patrol, traffic enforcement, and investigations. Increasing campus security at our local schools both public and private.
