Is there a particular issue, or a specific reason, that has motivated you to seek a position on the board of education? Explain why you are running.
What experiences or skills have prepared you to serve as a board member?
How do you propose to balance the following factors: retention of good teachers, quality of education provided to the students, and the desire of most taxpayers for lower taxes.
What, if any, changes would you like to make to the school district curriculum?
My primary motivation for running for a position on the Board of Education is to actively address the growing concerns about the quality of STEM education within our district, particularly the lack of access to advanced technology and hands-on learning experiences for students, which I believe is crucial for preparing them for future careers in rapidly evolving technological landscape. I am hopeful that many of us share the same goal of making sure that the Rockaway Borough children are ready for the new future ahead of us.
I am a Rockaway community member, and it takes a village to raise a child. Looking out for other children and my own has been a rewarding experience that I can carry throughout life. My professional skill set to conduct thorough reviews with providers' qualifications has a great potential to transcend for me as a board member. It is always a pleasure to effectively listen to the concerns of others, foster open communication, and apply realistic strategies for improvement. I am committed to the tasks at hand. I have been dependable and accountable to our fantastic community for many years. This community is all about teamwork! Throughout the past 13 years, I have been involved with the school, volunteering in the community, and sports with the Rockaway Borough and the Morris Hills High School. My experience and willingness to learn will prepare me to serve as a board member.
I plan to increase the retention rate for our teachers by empowering them to succeed, which means highlighting why teachers are the pillars of our community. This task may include advanced research of opportunities to strengthen their role as one of our community's most outstanding civil services. Actionable items involve supporting teachers and adding more paraprofessionals into their classrooms. I will give the students a better quality of education so that the teacher does not feel alone in a classroom with twenty-two students, and they can attend to every student. Reduced tax rates will help boost savings and investment in more sources for the students to access.
If I could make any changes, I would like to add to the school curriculum teach life skills lessons that can prepare them for the future. Which consist of social conduct, overcoming peer pressure strategies and inter-generational engagements. If given the opportunity to be a part of the board. I will of course respectfully work well with current and experienced board members. Change can take time and working together will be a delight for me as a new member.
