There shall be a City Council consisting of six (6) Council Members and the Mayor who shall be deemed a Member of the City Council for all purposes. The City Council shall constitute the legislative and governing body of the City and shall have the power and authority to adopt such ordinances and resolutions, as it shall deem proper in the exercise of its power.There shall be elected from the City at large, a Mayor for a term of four (4) years and six (6) Council Members for terms of four (4) years each. At one regular election, three (3) Council Members and the Mayor shall be elected. At the following regular election, three (3) Council Members shall be elected. All terms of office shall commence at the first regularly scheduled or special meeting of Council following the date of the election certification.
