What makes me most suited for this role is a long-standing, hands-on involvement in East Petersburg. For several years, I’ve volunteered at many borough events, attended most Council meetings, and served on the Planning Commission. These experiences and connections have given me a working understanding of local government. Professionally, I lead training operations for an international company, where we onboard thousands of employees, especially during acquisitions. My approach to public service will be the same way I approach business: trust, but verify. It's important that our elected officials understand every issue they vote on, not just take someone else’s word for it.
I believe that East Petersburg's most pressing issues are: 1. Maintaining a balanced budget and debt-free status with limited outward growth opportunities 2. Ensuring that our long-term strategic plan is adaptable to changing federal & state priorities and funding 3. Provision of timely and efficient emergency services 4. Proactive maintenance and improvements to key infrastructure such as our water system and streets 5. Creation and maintenance of green space and parks
Civic engagement and participation in Council meetings are essential to good government. Councils should actively encourage residents to attend meetings and share feedback to help ensure decisions serve the broader public good. My own decision-making would be grounded in facts and rational discussion, and I would welcome public input as part of that process. At the same time, I understand that not everyone can attend an in-person meeting, especially during a weekday evening. If elected, one of my goals is to invest in tech upgrades that allow for live streaming of Council meetings, eventually building in tools that let residents participate virtually.
