As County Clerk, I will prioritize accessibility, security, and accountability. I'll extend office hours to better serve working families who can't visit during traditional business hours. I'll conduct a comprehensive information security review to protect sensitive public records and personal data from cyber threats. Finally, I'll implement metrics tracking to measure our office's efficiency and identify areas for improvement. Transparency matters—residents deserve to know how their clerk's office is performing. My goal is a modern, responsive clerk's office that earns public trust.
I'll ensure efficiency through accountability and continuous improvement. I'll establish a customer feedback system to identify service gaps and measure satisfaction. Performance metrics will track processing times, accuracy rates, and wait times—with regular public reporting so residents can see how their clerk's office performs. I'll also conduct thorough reviews of all third-party vendor contracts to ensure we're getting value for taxpayer dollars and meeting service level agreements. Vendors will be held accountable with performance reports.
Three pressing challenges: explosive county growth, evolving cybersecurity threats, and artificial intelligence. Population surge demands scalable systems to maintain service quality. Cybersecurity is critical as we hold sensitive data, making us ransomware targets. I'll prioritize security audits and staff training. AI offers opportunities for document processing and fraud detection while creating new risks. Workforce retention is challenging with limited advancement. I'll address this through professional development, cross-training, and specialization pathways in technology and security.
