America needs a functional, humane immigration system. Congress should continue to secure the border while establishing legal pathways so families and employers aren’t stuck in chaos. That means modernizing asylum processing, expanding work visas to meet labor needs, protecting Dreamers, and ensuring due process. Immigration should be orderly, lawful, and consistent with American values and economic reality. ICE agents should not be above state law. We need to mandate that they use identification, warrants and respect for due process when prosecuting arrests and detainments.
Tariffs are a tax on American consumers and American businesses. The Constitution gives Congress - not the President - authority over tariffs, and Congress must actively exercise that role. Tariffs should be targeted and strategic, not blunt tools that raise prices on working families and small businesses. Congress should protect critical industries and national security while avoiding trade policies that function as hidden taxes.
Working families are being squeezed by rising costs, market concentration, and economic uncertainty. Congress should focus on lowering unavoidable costs, strengthening competition, investing in infrastructure and domestic manufacturing, and supporting workers through fair wages and benefits. We need to focus on getting the middle class to be the fastest growing class in the country again. The major issues driving the cost of living for the majority of Americans include the lack of affordable healthcare, housing, childcare and higher education.
The federal government should ensure access to reliable and affordable, high-quality healthcare. That includes strengthening coverage options, lowering prescription drug costs, supporting rural hospitals, investing in preventative health, and preparing for health emergencies. Inspired by Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company, my approach to healthcare focuses on three clear goals: lowering prices though fair competition, eliminating middlemen, and increasing transparency. No working American should be one emergency, diagnosis or job loss away from a medical-induced bankruptcy.
I am deeply concerned about the influence of big money in our justice system. Too often, outcomes depend on who can afford better lawyers or prolonged legal fights, not on fairness or facts. That is deeply unfair to working people without large war chests. Congress must reduce the role of money in judicial elections, properly fund public defenders and courts, expand access to legal aid, and ensure that wealthy individuals and corporations are held accountable under the law. Justice should never depend on how much money you have.
The U.S. should lead with diplomacy, alliances, and respect for international law. America has prospered from the world order that was paid for by the greatest generation in World War 2. Isolationism and appeasement of authoritarian aggression are the not the way to lead with strength on a global stage. But we should use our significant influence to support the peaceful resolution of conflicts, address climate change as a global security issue, and strengthening global health cooperation. American leadership is strongest when it is principled, steady, and focused on long-term stability.
Congress must set clear rules for artificial intelligence and social media to protect privacy, competition, and public safety. Regulations should promote innovation while ensuring transparency, preventing abuse, and safeguarding jobs, children and consumers. Technology should serve people, not undermine democracy or spread misinformation. I want to root out (or at least clearly identify) foreign actors and bots from our social media platforms. We also need some regulation of violent and pornographic content being served to minors on the internet.
Congress should protect the civil rights and safety of LGBTQ people, including transgender Americans. That means ensuring equal protection under the law, opposing discrimination, and defending personal freedom and privacy. No one should face harm or exclusion because of who they are. I don't believe that gender affirming drugs or treatment should be accessible until the age of 18. We should make co-ed sports teams, locker rooms and bathrooms available so that every child has a safe place to participate.
America needs reliable, affordable energy while protecting the environment. Congress should invest in a diverse energy mix, modernize the grid, support domestic energy production, and expand clean energy and efficiency. A balanced approach strengthens security, lowers costs, and protects future generations.
I want to push for redistricting reform to ban out of cycle and partisan redistricting efforts nationwide. All redistricting should happen every 10 years to align with the census, via a non-partisan commission. I also want to simplify the tax system, support small businesses which generate 99% of the new jobs and innovation, and close tax loopholes use by billionaires to pay less than everyday working Americans.
Lastly, as part of a broader reforms, a balanced budget should be an absolute requirement.
