I want to serve because education changes lives, and I’ve spent years preparing to serve our district, knowing this wouldn’t be an easy journey. I’ve shown up for years: attending every school board meeting, serving as VP of Events for the Celina Education Foundation, mentoring through Partners in Education, and advising the Celina High Interact Club. Along with my professional leadership experience, these roles have prepared me to serve. I’m a stronger candidate because I’ve never stopped showing up, and I’m committed to putting students first, supporting teachers, and helping guide our district with steady, informed leadership.
They should listen, ask questions, and stay involved to truly understand today’s needs in an ever-changing learning environment. Supporting students and staff requires being present, understanding the data, and putting proactive tools in place to keep everyone safe. We need involvement and support that extends beyond board meetings. A strong learning environment starts with keeping students and teachers at the center of every decision. As Celina grows, we must ensure safe schools, supported classrooms, and that educators have what they need to help students succeed. When students feel safe, and teachers feel supported, our schools thrive.
Our academic team has done a tremendous amount of work to close gaps and improve student performance, and that progress should continue. Student outcomes should be measured by academic growth, graduation readiness, and how well students are prepared for their next step: college, career, trade, or military service. At the end of the day, success is also reflected in students’ desire to show up each day ready to take on new challenges. The board must stay engaged with the data, support our teachers, and ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed.
Recruiting and retaining great teachers starts with creating the right environment where educators feel valued, supported, and respected. While competitive compensation is important, the board must also ensure teachers have the resources, classroom support, and leadership they need to focus on student success. Clear communication, strong community support for our schools, and thoughtful planning as the district grows all contribute to a culture where great teachers want to stay and build their careers.
Celina’s rapid growth creates challenges in budgeting, staffing, and long-term planning. While we have a plan for building schools, we must also ensure we can attract and retain strong teachers as we grow. I will focus on asking the right questions, staying engaged with the data, and supporting long-term planning that keeps pace with enrollment. That includes ensuring staffing, compensation, and resources grow alongside our schools so we continue to support students and teachers effectively.
We need to involve and educate parents so they understand how technology is being used as we navigate this rapidly changing world. As a board, we must remain proactive and ensure clear guidelines are in place that support students and prepare them for the future. Technology should enhance learning, not replace strong teaching, and must be implemented thoughtfully and responsibly.
Teacher and administrator pay will be a challenge, and it must be made a priority. If we want to lead in education, we must ensure compensation remains competitive as our district grows. Celina ISD has been a responsible steward of taxpayer dollars, and I will ensure that this continues. The board’s responsibility is to use resources wisely while keeping students and teachers at the center of every financial decision. That includes supporting classrooms, planning for growth, and maintaining transparency so we build trust with our community.
I will work hard to ensure that parents, staff, and community members are heard. This begins with being present and creating opportunities beyond board meetings. That includes listening sessions in our community, regular campus visits, and engaging directly with teachers and staff. Parent and teacher advisory groups, along with surveys and open communication, help ensure all voices are considered. It’s not enough to collect feedback; we must show how it shapes decisions. When people feel heard and see action, we build trust and make stronger decisions for our students.
Celina ISD is experiencing rapid growth, which brings important decisions about resources, staffing, and long-term planning. I will work to ensure we continue to grow responsibly while maintaining strong schools, supporting our teachers, and keeping students at the center of every decision. Student safety must always remain a top priority, and I will support clear policies that protect students. This requires leadership that plans ahead, stays engaged, and keeps students first as our district continues to grow.
