As a criminal defense attorney, I have spent my career working within the legal system to ensure fairness, due process, and the protection of individual rights. My experience requires careful interpretation of the law, evaluation of facts, and impartial judgment. A Justice of the Peace must apply the law consistently and without bias, political influence, or personal belief. I am committed to serving as a neutral arbiter whose decisions reflect fairness, accountability, and respect for the rule of law.
As a process-oriented criminal defense attorney, I understand how confusing court systems can be for the public. I will focus on strengthening internal court operations so the front-facing experience is clear, respectful, and efficient. Well-managed back-office systems improve communication, reduce confusion, and ensure people understand what is expected of them. An accessible, organized court is essential to fairness and public trust.
As the county grows, increasing caseloads must be managed proactively. My experience working within the justice system shows that backlogs are often caused by poor management rather than volume alone. I will prioritize effective case management, clear scheduling practices, and accountability within court operations to ensure cases are resolved fairly and in a timely manner. Justice delayed undermines confidence in the court.
One of the most pressing issues facing Justice of the Peace courts is public trust. Inconsistent procedures, delays, and lack of transparency erode confidence in the justice system. As Justice of the Peace, I will ensure neutrality, consistent application of the law, and accountability in court operations. Every individual deserves fair treatment, due process, and respect, regardless of circumstance.

My extensive background in the service industry and student ministries, as well as my broad education and life experiences, will enable me to maintain fairness, strong ethics, and respect for the people we serve. My life's dedication to service, truth, and justice will drive my time in office.
I will start with; My first priority is changing the culture of the office, we are there as a service to the public, I will lead by example. Treating people who enter the court as customers and people who need help, not indifference, we need to be accountable for the service we provide. My next priority is accessing the unmet needs of the public, which may include adding a remote location, extending and/or realigning the docket hours or adding kiosks for better convenience. My third priority will be considering our appr
The county is expected to top out at 2.5 to 3 million people; with four JP offices, we will serve 600,000 plus people. Three things: 1. Implementing kiosks and other electronic assistance for after-hours service. 2. Establish remote locations to minimize inconvenience. 3. Flexing the hours of availability of the court. To achieve this, it is essential to maintain a good relationship with the commissioner's court and align my court's needs with budgetary constraints to ensure high-quality services to the community we serve. Ultimately, we may need to add additional courts as well.
Once I am in the office, I will be able to speak to that more directly. Other issues will undoubtedly become known.

I currently serve as Justice of the Peace and bring over 40 years of experience in judicial service, law enforcement, court administration, and executive leadership. I preside over civil, criminal, and magisterial matters; manage court staff and budgets; issue warrants and protective orders; and ensure compliance with Texas law through fair, impartial decision-making.
I believe Justice Court must be understandable, respectful, and accessible. I ensure clear explanations of procedures, plain-language communication, fair scheduling, and respectful treatment of all parties. I support efficient docket management, mediation when appropriate, and professional court staff to help citizens navigate the process with confidence.
As caseloads increase, I rely on efficient docket control, early case review, mediation, and disciplined case-flow management to ensure timely resolutions. My experience in court administration and large-scale operations allows me to balance workload demands while maintaining fairness, accuracy, and compliance with statutory deadlines.
Key challenges include increasing filings, public misunderstanding of court processes, and maintaining procedural fairness. I address these by enforcing clear procedures, prioritizing lawful outcomes, supporting court staff training, and ensuring decisions are grounded in statute, evidence, and due process while maintaining public trust.
